Job Description:

DG Infotech Ltd. invites application from highly qualified, energitic and experienced professionals who wish to join DGIL’s dynamic working environment, for recruitment in the following position.

 

Position : IT Manager (1 Nos.)

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining computer

hardware, software and networks.

 

SCOPE

The Information Technology Manager reports to the Senior Administrative Officer and manages

and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.       Manage information technology and computer systems

o    Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of information systems and electronic data processing (EDP)

o    Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and EFT systems operations and development

o    Meet with managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines

o    Hire and manage information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop, implement, operate and administer EFT and telecommunications software, networks and information systems

o    Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures

 

2.       Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software

Main Activities

o    Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system

o    Be familiar with all EFT & POS hardware and software

o    Be familiar with POS network operating system

o    Provide orientation to new users of technology

o    Train staff about potential uses of technology

o    Train staff about new and potential use

o    Provide individual training and support on request

o    Provide recommendations about accessing information and support

o    Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources

 

3.       Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access

Main Activities

o    Troubleshoot all technology issues

o    Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance

o    Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources

o    Research current and potential resources and services

o    Provide network access to all staff and students

o    Install work stations

o    Connect and set up hardware & software

o    Provide network accounts and passwords as required

o    Monitor security of all technology

o    Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status

o    Ensure installation of lock out programs

o    Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate

o    Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education & Experience

o    Master in Information Technology/ Computer Science/Computer Engineering/ Electrical & Electronic Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering / Biotechnology with MBA.

o    Must have work experience in Multinational Company.

o    Minimum 10 years of Experience in the relevant field. 

Knowledge

o    The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

o    Computer hardware and software systems and programs

o    Computer networks, network administration and network installation

o    Computer troubleshooting

o    Computer viruses and security

o    E-mail and internet programs

o    An understanding of the accounting, economic, cultural and political environment

Skills

The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:

o    Management and supervisory skills
